Coronavirus Issue: 30% Indian Districts Now Have COVID-19

Among 30% of the districts in India, the SARS-CoV-2 is making the situation more challenging to control. The union ministry of health information reveals that the government has become able to make sure the cases in 211 of 720 districts in India with some bigger states revealing that over 60% of the districts as affected while some are revealing more than 30%.

This number is increasing as the ministry has reported positive cases of 1,965, and the total number is more than 2000. Experts opine that resuming the transmission of the coronavirus throughout the states could block the efforts because they may experience shortages of testing kits as well as a lack of preventive facilities. A senior official in the Karnataka government said that the endeavor was to obtain the transmission in the districts which had reported already. The coronavirus lockdown has assisted to some extent though the initial movement of people hurt them.

The virus has first appeared in China. Gradually, it has now affected more than 200 countries globally. Every day, the virus is taking away a lot of life. From the beginning, over 50,000 people have died due to this virus. The death rate is currently severe in the USA, Italy, and Spain. Right now, France is also revealing some steep death rates.

Santosh Ansumali, a professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre, and Aloke Kumar of IISc, reported that India might need over 16,000 respiratory pumps and around 5,000 ventilators to heal the patients by the end of the April.

The health ministry reports that more than 6000 ventilators and more than 2000 ICU beds are ready throughout the entire country. However, the effective medical facilities for treating coronavirus patients are only in the district headquarters or in the big cities. Among 17 states and the Union Territory, 11 have over 20% affected districts.
