Big Basket Acquires Milk Delivery Service DailyNinja to Ramp Up BBDaily
Online e-commerce grocery platform Big Basket announced that it has acquired online milk delivery application DailyNinja. Big Basket claims that this acquisition is part of its strategy to subscription business in Bengaluru.
As of now, DailyNinja has 110,000 customers, and the startup believes that this partnership with Big Basket will help it cater to a wider set of audience.
Talking about the partnership, Hari Menon, co-founder, and CEO of Big Basket commented, “Business with small traders is a key and growing part of Bigbasket’s business. DailyNinja currently has a large network of milkman partners which will enable us to expand our offerings under BB daily. Our relationship with the key national brands as well as the supply chain built over the years will help us deliver a strong value proposition to them. We also aim to improve delivery productivity and achieve breakeven much sooner than planned,”
Big Basket delivers a wide range of products including fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, dairy, eggs, breakfast cereals, tender coconut, personal care, and baby care products, etc. It operates a massive 160,000 deliveries per day.
Hari acknowledged that the acquisition will give BB access to 2000 milkman partners across India. Furthermore, it will also help DailyNinja to double its business growth by utilizing BB’s widespread supply chain channels.
Sagar Yarnalkar, CEO of DailyNinja is also very optimistic about the partnership.
